Synopsis

The problem of earthquakes in structures is always experiencing development from a scientific perspective due to the many new discoveries regarding earthquake behavior in man-made buildings. From the scientific side of Earthquake Engineering, this problem is very interesting, especially in the field of Civil Engineering which analyzes and designs buildings that are earthquake resistant (Earthquake Resistant).
For students in the field of Civil Engineering in the Polytechnic vocational education environment, this textbook is used as the main reference in completing the Earthquake Engineering course.
The main reference for carrying out structural calculations taking into account earthquake problems is SNI 1726-2019 which is applied to concrete structures SNI 2847-2019. The writing of this textbook is described in six chapters, namely introduction, introduction to earthquakes, earthquake resistant structural design concepts, Static Equivalent Load Calculation Procedures, detailed requirements for structural elements and application of structural calculations.

Author Biography

Ir. Julius Everhart Tenda, MT, Manado State Polytechnic

Ir. Julius Everhart Tenda, MT, started his Civil Engineering education at the Faculty of Engineering, Sam Ratulangi University in 1981 (51) and at the same campus in 2010 (52). In 1994 he carried out his service duties as a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department of the Manado State Polytechnic with a focus on expertise in the field of Structures. In collaboration with industry, the author often carries out calculations and structural studies on several buildings in Manado City, including the Unsrat Rector's Office 1992, the Peninsula Hotel 2008, the Steel Frame of the Unsrat Auditorium, the Unsrat Law Faculty Lecture Hall and others. Then, since 2017, the author has also often been the head of an independent expert team as assistance to the Public Works Department, BPK and Prosecutor's Office in Gorontalo Province and North Sulawesi Province. In an effort to develop human resources in the field of Civil Engineering, especially in the scientific field of Structures: concrete, Steel and Earthquake, the author has attended several seminars and TOTs at several leading universities, including in Bandung, Surabaya, Jakarta and Yogyakarta. Interest in the field of earthquake engineering because its use is very important in the structural planning process considering that Indonesia is an earthquake-prone area so that the application of earthquake loads in structural planning is a must for structural planners.

EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING According to SNI 1726-2019

The Earthquake Engineering textbook according to SNI 1726-2019, is a book specifically for Civil Engineering Students and Practitioners regarding the structural calculation procedures for multi-storey buildings using reinforced concrete constitutive materials. This book explains the basic understanding of earthquakes, provisions for earthquake resistant structural design, earthquake load calculation procedures and reinforcement details according to the latest regulations, namely SNI 1726-2019 and SNI 2847-2019 with the help of the ETABS program. With the presence of this book, it is hoped that students and practitioners will easily apply it to structural planning
