Coastal, Marine EcotourismSynopsis
The Tourism Department, especially the Global Tourism Management Study Program of the Manado State Polytechnic, targets its graduates to have knowledge about Coastal & Marine Ecotourism so that they can have knowledge about skills on how to manage responsible tourists who will travel to natural destinations, especially in coastal and marine areas, reduce or even eliminate environmental impacts, instill awareness of environmental sustainability so as not to threaten and damage the lives/habitats of marine flora and fauna, provide direct economic benefits/advantages for conservation, improve the welfare of local residents in destination areas, especially in coastal areas, and respect the existing local culture. This knowledge and skills are very much needed when they want to apply for jobs and be interviewed by domestic and international tourism industries according to their competencies/skills. The absence of reference textbooks on Coastal & Marine Ecotourism for Semester 1II students of the Global Tourism Management Study Program, motivated the author to compile this Textbook by referring to the applicable Curriculum and Semester Learning Plan (RPS) Semester 3 of the Tourism Department - Manado State Polytechnic, especially for students of the Global Tourism Management Study Program.
This textbook to be completed will be a reference book for students and lecturers who will teach Coastal & Marine Ecotourism in semester 3 for the Global Tourism Management Study Program.
