Synopsis

This textbook covers technical drawing for multi-story buildings, progressing from fundamentals to skills ready for professional application. The material is designed as a continuation of *Building Technical Drawing 1*.
The book is divided into three sections. The first section addresses the basics of drawing multi-story buildings, including drawing standards, floor plans, sections, and elevations. The second section covers structural details—foundations, columns, beams, floor slabs, stairs, and roofs—along with instructions on interpreting reinforcement notations and calculating material requirements. The third section deals with layout plans, site plans, and perspective drawings.
All chapters utilize a single building case study, allowing students to observe the complete drafting process for one building from start to finish. The book follows an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach and aligns with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) for Building Drafters. Each chapter includes learning objectives, a summary, exercises, and an evaluation.
This textbook is intended for students in Building Construction programs within Civil Engineering departments, equipping them with the technical drafting skills required in the construction industry.

Author Biographies

Ir. Dian Puspita Sari,S.T.,M.Ars, Politeknik Negeri Manado

The author completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering at Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, in 2008, and subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Architecture from the same university in 2017. The author’s primary teaching responsibilities include Technical Drawing Practice 1 and 2. Additionally, the author teaches Computer Applications and workshop-based courses such as Woodworking Practice and Masonry Practice. Academic interests focus on building design, green building principles, and the application of BIM-based (Building Information Modeling) technical drawing software. The author has authored a textbook on Road and Bridge Technical Drawing and remains active as a practicing architect involved in various building construction projects. The author can be contacted via email at dian.puspitasari@sipil.polimdo.ac.id.

Mycle M. Wala,S.T.,M.T, Politeknik Negeri Manado

The author completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering in 2002 and subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Construction Engineering Management, in 2014. Currently, the author is dedicated to education, teaching courses such as Technical Drawing I and II, Computer Applications, Cost Estimation, Project Management, and Construction Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). The author’s academic interests focus on the preparation of building construction drawings, the application of technical drawing software, project cost estimation, project management, and the implementation of OHS in construction. In addition to teaching, the author is actively engaged in research within the field of project management. The author has developed several textbooks, including *Building Technical Drawing I*, *AutoCAD Computer Applications*, and *Building Cost Estimation*. The book currently in the reader's hands is a continuation of this body of work; it was written with the aim of guiding students and readers toward a better understanding of how to prepare construction drawings and their execution sequences, the importance of workplace safety in construction, and the relationship between these elements and on-site cost estimation planning. The author can be contacted via email at myclewala@gmail.com.

Ir. Rudolf E.G. Mait, S.T., M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Politeknik Negeri Manado

The author’s educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree (S-1) in Civil Engineering from Sam Ratulangi University, Manado (1987–1996), followed by a Master’s degree (S-2) in Regional and Urban Planning from Diponegoro University, Semarang (2004–2007). The author subsequently completed the Professional Engineer Program in Civil Engineering at Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, in 2023, thereby formally solidifying his engineering qualifications. Currently, the author holds the academic rank of Associate Professor (*Lektor Kepala*) and possesses professional qualifications as an Intermediate Professional Engineer (IPM)—recognized nationally—and an ASEAN Engineer (ASEAN Eng.), recognized across Southeast Asia; these achievements reflect engineering competence that has been validated against professional standards. The courses taught by the author include Basic Steel Structures, Applied Mathematics, Engineering Mechanics, Steel Structures, Computer Applications, Advanced Building Steel Structures, and Concrete Material Testing Laboratory. This combination of backgrounds in Civil Engineering and Regional and Urban Planning demonstrates that the author’s expertise extends beyond structural analysis and design—specifically regarding steel structures and construction material testing—to encompass broader aspects of regional planning, providing a complementary foundation for addressing the engineering aspects discussed in this textbook. The author can be contacted via email at rudy17r@gmail.com.

Dr. Ir. Beldie Aryona Tombeg, S.T., M.Ars., Politeknik Negeri Manado

The author pursued formal education sequentially, earning a Bachelor’s degree (S-1) in Architecture and a Master’s degree (S-2) in Urban Architecture from Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, followed by a Doctoral degree (S-3) in Environmental Science from Brawijaya University, Malang, with a focus on environmental studies. Beyond academia, the author has a track record of public leadership, having served as a Commissioner and subsequently as the Chairperson of the Tomohon City General Election Commission (KPU) for two terms: 2008–2013 and 2013–2018. Drawing on this electoral experience, the author was appointed as a panelist for regional head candidate debates in North Sulawesi—covering gubernatorial, regent, and mayoral races—during the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections, specifically addressing environmental and spatial planning issues. The author’s teaching and research interests encompass Environmental Management, EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment), Green Construction Material Technology, and the utilization of waste and recycled materials in construction. This textbook serves as a follow-up to the author's previous work, *Teknologi Bahan Bangunan* (Building Material Technology), placing greater emphasis on sustainability and the use of local resources. The author also contributed to the compilation of *Evaluasi Penyelenggaraan Pemilu 2024: Perspektif Penyelesaian Sengketa* (Evaluation of the 2024 Election Implementation: A Dispute Resolution Perspective). The author can be contacted via email at beldie.tombeg@polimdo.ac.id.
