Synopsis

The development of road and bridge transportation infrastructure is still a priority for development in Indonesia and is a major concern for the government. For this reason, it is necessary to master technology and create a reliable workforce with a certificate of competency expertise, as prospective workers for the Road and Bridge Construction service industry, road bridge engineering students must equip themselves with adequate knowledge of civil engineering including bridge steel structures. For this reason, this curriculum is designed according to the needs of the construction industry in accordance with the bridge steel structure course. This book refers to bridge structures in Indonesia designed and designed using the SNI 1725: 2016 bridge loading regulation standard, the PU Department 2005 bridge loading standard, where the loads regulated in this regulation consist of vehicle loads, seismic loads, self-weight loads of the structure, and wind loads. The vehicle load in this regulation is an idealization of the actual vehicle load. Traffic volume and vehicle weight are one aspect in designing bridge structures. Traffic volume and vehicle load are primary information whose collection requires good precision and accuracy to obtain optimal results. The purpose of this bridge steel structure textbook is to understand bridge structures and design reference standards, understand bridge steel structure models, understand bridge structure failures, bridge steel structure loading design, steel bridge flexural beam design and bridge decks, steel bridge structure design, bridge abutment design. The benefits of this bridge steel structure textbook are having the ability to design steel bridge structures with civil engineering systems and infrastructure according to needs by considering various constraints such as economic, environmental and security constraints. Having the ability to identify, formulate and solve problems in civil engineering, especially bridge steel structures. Having knowledge of the development of current issues in the field of civil engineering regarding bridge steel structures. Having the ability and skills in applying the latest technology and software in the field of civil engineering in this case bridge steel structures. The author hopes that this book will be useful for students in particular and other readers in general.
